In March, 2017 a group of the MARBLE team members took part in the Russian conference for young scientists – KIMO 2017 (standing for the Complex Study of the World Ocean). Natalya Stepanova, the head of the organizing committee, presented her research on the cold intermediate layer in the Baltic Sea in 2006. Artem Mizyuk made an oral presentation about numerical modelling of currents along the Crimean peninsula, while Andrei Bagaev and Irina Poterukhina made poster presentations on light microplastics transport in the south-eastern Baltic and discharge waters from the Vistula lagoon into the Baltic Sea under drift currents, respectively. Margarita Bagaeva, a translator of the MARBLE project, gave a lecture on peculiarities of writing in academic English.
