This week, on 7-8 November, 2017 Mikhail Zobkov was one of the key speakers at the HELCOM SPICE Workshop on microlitter in Helsinki, Finland. The aim of the workshop was to identify gaps and ways forward in marine litter monitoring and assessment in the Baltic Sea. Dr. Zobkov shared the experience and the results of the 3-year research from the MARBLE project.

The Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission, usually referred to as HELCOM, is an intergovernmental organization of the nine Baltic Sea coastal countries and the European Union working to protect the marine environment of the Baltic Sea from all sources of pollution and to ensure safety of navigation in the region.
